CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

Submission Deadline: Wednesday, July 25, 2007 (12 Noon USA CT)

The 2008 Program Committee invites applications to present at the 20th Annual Conference of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). The conference theme is NAPO Conference Goes Platinum: 20 Years of Organizers Coming Together.
Professional Organizers enhance the lives of clients by implementing systems and processes, and through transferring organizing skills. Professional Organizers also educate the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits.
Proposals are sought for 90-minute concurrent sessions. The primary conference objective is to provide organizers at all levels with content-rich programming of the highest caliber. We are looking for seasoned speakers to share their expertise with NAPO members on topics related to:
  • How-to skill building sessions
  • Industry "best practices"
  • Business topics including marketing, sales, management and technology
  • Organizing topics including skills and implementation
  • Panel Presentations on both business and organizing topics
  • Personal Growth & Development
  • Multiple Business Models and Delivery Modes
Workshop proposals are encouraged to align with the Conference theme. Please feel free to submit more than one proposal.

Speaker Expenses:

All speakers are responsible for personal travel and hotel expenses, and session expenses such as slides, transparencies, and handouts not included in the program book.


SUBMISSION DEADLINE
All proposals must be received by NAPO
by Wednesday, July 25, 2007, 12 Noon CT

NOTIFICATIONS:
You will be notified if your session is accepted by or before the end of October, 2007.


SESSION PROPOSAL SUBMISSION
By submitting a proposal to NAPO:
  • I understand that I must travel to the Reno Conference at my own expense.
  • I authorize my session to be recorded and/or videotaped. I agree to follow the recording guidelines to enhance the quality of the audio or videotapes.
  • I understand that a submission of a proposal implies a commitment to make the presentation.
  • I understand there is no marketplace at the 2008 conference nor are back-of-the-room sales permissible.
  • I agree that all handout materials will be my original work or I will have the author's permission to reproduce and distribute his/her copyrighted materials as handout copy.
  • I agree to submit all materials for my presentation to NAPO Headquarters by the deadlines established by NAPO staff.
  • I understand that as an educational speaker I will have the opportunity to submit a 10-page single sided handout for the conference program book that can include one page of marketing material/product order information.
  • I agree that no other marketing or promotional materials may be distributed during my presentation, even if I did not submit a handout for the printed conference program book.
  • I understand that this is an educational conference, and will limit any direct marketing of programs or products in my presentation unless it is extremely relevant to my topic.
  • I agree that if my presentation is accepted, I will ensure that my handouts match the accepted presentation.
  • I understand that NAPO cannot guarantee all speakers access to the Internet during their presentations. Therefore, I agree to adapt my session to not require a live Internet connection if so notified by NAPO.
  • Only submissions that list ALL speakers (Primary and Co) will be reviewed by the program committee.
  • No Co-Speakers may be added after the submission deadline.
